04. Theme Options
The theme uses the WordPress Customizer feature for it's global/theme options. Customizer is a native WordPress feature which was added in WordPress back in 2012, so if you've ever used WordPress you won't have any problems.
Note: Only functionality related options are in the Customizer. For styling options use MeridianStyler, more on that further down the documentation.
You can access the customizer at WP Admin → Appearance → Customize. In there you will see these sections:
- General
- Header
- Subheader
- Footer
- Social
- Banner Ads
- Settings
- Other
General
In this section of the theme options you can set the logo and the retina version of the logo. The retina version is optional.
Header
In this section you can change the header layout and enable/disable various elements of the header section.
Subheader
In this section you can change the layout of the subheader area. When adding/editing a page you will see an option to change the subheader layout under the Other Options section, it will only affect that page.
Footer
In this section you can enable/disable various elements of the footer section and also change the copyright text.
Social
In this section you can set the URLs to your social profiles. They will be used in the social widget and in the footer. Enter the full URLs.
Banner Ads
In this section you can set the advertisement banners that show on different places in the theme.
Settings
In this section you can change the parameters for when a post becomes hot or trending and also set the URL to othe hot and trending page.
Other
In this section are various options that do not fit in other categories. Currently the options to change layout on search and archive pages are located here.
